McDonalds Monopoly Promotion!

We provided a Classic Open Top double decker branded bus to promote the McDonalds Monopoly promotion

McDonalds Monopoly Promotion

Client Brief

We received a request for a two day hire of an open top double decker bus to be used to promote the McDonalds Monopoly promotion.

The vehicle was to carry a number of promotion staff, drive around London stopping at each of the locations mentioned on the Monopoly board, at which point the promotions staff, dressed in Top hat & Tails would jump off the bus and interact with the public.

The bus itself had to be

  • Low Budget
  • Open Topped
  • Classic (i.e. Routemaster)
  • Minimally branded
  • Come with a driver

Process

We contacted a number of suppliers in the London area and managed to source the ideal vehicle which was, available, within budget and after negotiation, could be branded.

Once the vehicle was identified we discussed the branding options available along with relevant costs, the client specified side panel branding with McDonalds M decals in a number of lower deck windows and the forward destination panel to be branded

We arranged for the client to view the vehicle the evening prior to the promotion after the branding had being completed

Problems/Resolutions

When branding a hire vehicle for a short term promotion care, has to be taken and promises given that the branding will not damage the underlying paintwork.

The last thing the client wants is for the branding to be removed along with large chunks of body paint, with costs of up to £10,000 for a respray and vehicle downtime, care has to be taken.

We arrange to have vehicles branded using bespoke manufactured vinyl and both attached and removed, undercover away from the elements, using nominated technicians.

The vehicle being branded by this method is covered by guarantee that no damage will occur to the paintwork and if it were to happen the damage would be repaired free of charge.

Unfortunately, on this occasion, the vehicle was not available for the time required to visit the nearest branding depot and would have to be branded onsite.

We negotiated with the bus depot, arranged for the vehicle to be branded within the depots repair building and after the technicians being brought up to speed on the depots health and safety procedures dispatched 2 technicians to install and subsequently remove the branding.
