RSP09 or ‘Millie’ is an LEZ compliant 11.5m Mk1 Optare Excel Single Decker bus, with a similar exterior to RSP08. ‘Millie’ spent a short stint as a service bus, the bus was then bought and developed for Blackpool Council as a Youth Health Engagement vehicle, popularly known as the “Condom Bus”. Upon purchasing the vehicle, we decided to keep some of the interior layout as it was, making a few refinements and modified the rest of the interior with a more adaptive set of features to suit a number of different event types.
The vehicles primary function is as either an exhibition bus a training bus, mobile classroom, or even a media bus. However the bus can be used for promotional, informational, exhibition, or even Health Bus Mobile Clinic, type tours.
RSP09 is our “Green Bus” not only is it complaint with the latest Euro Emission Standards, the bus being equipped with cutting edge exhaust technology, it also generates its own 240v mains electricity whist in motion, charging its bank of leisure batteries, which in turn provide mains electricity aboard the bus.
RSP09 is also a unique single decker bus developed to undertake a variety of promotional vehicle event duties including health bus mobile clinic, exhibition, hospitality meeting bus in addition to its primary purpose of being a mobile classroom training bus.
Millie, as the bus is affectionally known as, has the distinct honour of being the first of our buses that have travelled throughout Europe, travelling over 40,000 miles over the course of a year promoting the latest heart monitor and pacemaker for Medtronic, at the same time the bus probably became the most photographed and videoed bus in the fleet, the bus being followed by journalists whilst entertaining many government officials, doctors and surgeons.
